Paste any text and switch it between cases — UPPERCASE, lowercase, Sentence case, Title Case — plus the developer formats like camelCase, snake_case and kebab-case. Useful when something arrives in the wrong shape and retyping it is not worth your afternoon.
Lowercase letters have ascenders and descenders that give each word a distinct outline, and readers use that shape to recognise words without spelling them out. Uppercase flattens everything into the same rectangle, so the shape cue disappears and reading slows measurably. Fine for a three-word button, painful for a paragraph — which is also why an all-caps message reads as shouting.
Title Case is not universal: some style guides capitalise every word, others leave short prepositions and articles lowercase. Check whichever one you are writing for. And converting to uppercase and back is lossy — the original capitals are gone, so proper nouns come back wrong. Keep the source text until you are happy with the result.
